Weekly Update - August 14, 2016

We had a great week of learning. After taking pre-assessments this past week and finishing up our introduction activities, we are ready to delve deep into 3rd grade standards.

Family Picture
Send in a picture of your family. This year, in an effort to continue building our strong community of learners, we asking all 3rd grade families to send in to put on our board. Photos should be no larger than 4" x 6" and it will be stapled to the board (so it will have holes in it).

Culture Quilt
Quilts are due tomorrow! I can't wait to see all of the finished products and look forward to the rich discussions we will have.

Beginning of the Year Tasks
Forms - Don't forget to complete and turn in all forms that have come home during the past week. Most families have turned in everything. I'll be reaching out to individuals who still need to complete forms.

Funds - Please send in $19 for instructional resources (Agenda-$7, Scholastic News-$6, Studies Weekly-$6). I sent home notices for students who still owe for these items. We greatly appreciate it!

Where in the world is Mrs. Lockwood? - April 3, 2016

I hope everyone is enjoying their first days of Spring Break.

We took a boat tour today and came across this lighthouse.
Look at how blue that water is! We even got to go into a cave.
I could get used to this view.
I sure hope that volcano didn't erupt any time soon. I wonder what kind of rocks we would find nearby.

Where in the World is Mrs. Lockwood? - February 13

It may be cold here, but these surfers don't care. Brrrr!
The buildings may look really old, but many of them have been rebuilt.
At 11 and 12 each day, a special show happens in this clock tower.
