  1. I feel unsure about living here. You never know if there will be any crops of animals to hunt and eat. I don't like the fact I can't vote for the members of government. I spend my day with my daughter cooking and tending to house work. This is my life in the Colony.

  4. I don't feel if I am sure about living here. I have a very dry environment. We grow Tobacco for some crops.Someone I would spend each day with would be my brother. What I would do with him is help grow crops.
That's my life as a colonist.

  9. Finally, after traveling for what seemed like forever, we arrived in Jamestown. It's like I have no rights if I can't vote. My older brother is always working out on tobacco farms, so every day I have to do chores. My father is part of the House of Burgesses. We almost freezed to death during winter. Please bring me home to England!!!):

  10. I am not so good because I am having to learn how to live in my new environment. I am having to live in this cold place and I am trying to survive this harsh winter. The snow is a hard challenge for us, we are not used to it. Had it not been for the Native Americans we would not have survived the first winter. They taught us how to grow crops and how to hunt for food. This helped us a lot.The food we catch is deer, rabbit, and wild turkeys(this is also what we eat) . We also eat the crops we grow.I also have chores that I do with my mom.Like, we harvest crops, wash clothes, and prepare meals. That is my life as a pilgrim.

  11. I don't really like this whole Jamestown idea. I sometimes wish I stayed in wonderful old England. Oh England! I loved England! Food is sometimes scarce, but we always manage. It is very cold up here. Now it is winter so it is snowing outside. My husband is busy today. He is in the House of Burgesses. My two daughters and I must work on our farming. If we don't pull weeds our corn may be taken over by weeds!

P.S.It's about lunch time. We are having wild turkey and maize (corn)! Yum!!!

  13. I am not feeling so well. I am starving. There are lots of things in my surroundings such as deer, fish etc. It is also very cold. I usually eat anything I can. Food is very valuable here. I'm trying to get back to England but it is very hard. I am here with my two best friends trying to keep alive!

  14. I am feeling a bit uneasy here in Jamestown. They are some natives trying to attack u. The good parts are that we are close too the water, trees, and woods to hunt in. We eat deer, fish, crops, and other things in the woods, farms, or ocean. I grow a tobacco plant. Winters are very harsh here and I don't like it one Bit!! I do get practice my own religion, though. If things don't get better I am going back to England

  15. I feel unsure about living here. I don't like the fact that We might run out of food.I spend most days with my dear sister, who cleans, cooks, and tends the house with me. Native Americans are hurting many people through out the town. I miss England with all my heart.I live alone when my sister is'nt here, and my husband and daughters are working. Life is bad. But this is the life of a colonist, and I guess it will always be...

  16. Madeline -- I am pretty satisfied where I live. Most of the time I am doing chores. My husband hunts and catches fish. I spent most of my time with him. I hate the cold weather too. I live near a river and lots of trees.

    Bye!

I don't like being here with the Indian's because they will most likely kill me and my family. I like living close to a farm where they grow crops so my family can eat the crops. I wouldl like to live near the forrest so I could build a house for us to live in. We are near the river so I am able to fish for food and we have drinking water for my family.

  18. Life here is different. I think it is unfair that i can't vote. I spend most of the day cleaning and getting ready for dinner. Thanks to the friendly native americans my husband knows how to hunt. My family usually has a small meal of rabbit and vegetables. It is getting harder and harder to survive with less and less food. This is my hrad life as a colonist. - OLIVIA
