  2. what the 1st amendment means to me:
the 1st amendment lets me know that i do have freedom, that i can speak freely. i have privacy in my home and that i practice what religion i want or practice none at all.if i think something is unfair or want something changed, i can start a petition. i think the first amendment was added to the constitution to give Americans more rights so if someone wants to make a change in something then they can do so without getting arrested. :{D - OLIVIA LANE KARP

  3. What the first amendment means to me is that the people of the U.S. have the rights of freedom of/to speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. This means that they have personal freedom as long as it does not hurt or go against the constitution.

  5. What the first Amendment means to me is...
The first Amendment means to me that I can trust I will not get arrested for what I say unless it is physically harming or threatening anybody else. It also means I have the right to practice any religion, hey, I am not under British control anymore. For all the government cares, I don't even have to practice a religion. I really like the first Amendment because it guarantees me, or at least it is suppose to, privacy and freedom to protest things I do not like or want. This is what the first Amendment means to me and what I like about it.

  6. The first amendment means to me is that every person can say anything, believe anything, get into any group, print any writing, and you can make a petition about anyyhing.Even if we get these rights, we still need to keep everything constitutional.

  7. To me the First Amendment means that every American citizen has five rights. Those five rights are the rights to assemble ( to join together peacefully), speech (the freedom to talk freely), religion (the right to practice any religion), press (newspapers, magazines), and petition (the right to ask to change a law. theese rights are important because then we would be limited, or suppressed

  8. To me the first amendment means that there is now one to tell you what to be. For example, now that the British are out of America, the colonists can celebrate or do whatever they want without the British. Now everyone in the U.S. has the freedom of speech, religion, press, petition, and assembly. BTW: My mom loves the 1st amendment song!

  9. The first amendment to me means that I can be me without someone telling me how to.I know that I never have to worry about not being able to create a petition and make change. It isn't how it was when there were 13 colonies and the colonists weren't allowed to vote or meet together in an assembly. Now that we won the war the citizens of the U.S have the freedom of speech, religion, petition, and press. The first amendment keeps the country from breking out into war against the government. That is what I think of the first amendment.

  10. To me the first amendment means that I cane me and dress how I want and like what I want. It means I can write anything, have any religion, I can protest and petition if I want to, I can say what I want to say, and I can assemble.

The first amendment means people can not tell you what to do, you have the choice. For example , I can write a petition. This could be about any thing but it should not insult the govorment . I could also do any kind of action if it is not violent.

  12. What the first amendment means to me is that you can do something without anyone telling you can't as long as what you do doesn't hurt anybody. What you could do is speak freely ,you have the freedom to assembly, to have any religion, to make a petition, and to press. The first amendment is why we can assemble make a speech and more.
Now I know that the first amendment is GREAT!!!!!!!!!

The first amendment means that people can have a Freedom of Religion and a Freedom of Speech. Freedom of religion means people don't have to fallow the same religion as every body. Freedom of speech means people can say stuff with out worry but not all the times.
    Also the first amendment rocks!!!!

  14. The First Amendment to me means the freedom to do what you choose as long as it is not against the law. Such as the freedom to be in any religon, the freedom to say what you choose what you say as long as it isn't offensive or agianst the law, the freedom to print anything, the freedom to join any group or start a group, and finally the freedom to change goverment. So the first amendment to me means you are free.
